I have been listening to the final mastered mixes of the album for a couple of weeks now and I am just so pleased with how everything sounds. This is the best sounding album I have ever released in my nerd/comedy music career and I owe most of that to Jon Dark at Pyrate Llama Studios.
While a bit of a drive from Portland, it’s a beautiful drive out in the wide open spaces of Yamhill county. The studio itself is inside a very cool old barn on a llama farm. But if that’s not enough to set this studio apart, it’s the people and the talent that really do. John Dark and his team really brought out the best in these songs and made the recording/mixing/mastering processes the most stress-free I have experienced. I also greatly appreciated Jon’s great ear and attention to detail. I felt he was personally invested in my project and worked hard to make it the best it could be.
For anyone in the Portland/Salem area looking to record, I highly recommend Pyrate Llama Studios and I look forward to using them for album #2!
